Tunes + Tallgrass on the Terrace at Wichita Art Museum
Celebrate summer with hot tunes and cool flick when TFA & Wichita Art Museum present the second Tunes + Tallgrass on the Terrace on Friday, June 13th on WAM’s East Terrace. Bring your lawn chair and lineup for the gourmet food trucks, cash bar, music and movie. Admission is free.
The evening begins at 7:00 pm with a performance by the Tulsa-based group The Whiskey Misters. An old time string band, this dynamic trio of talent writes and performs modern songs steeped in nostalgic Americana.
The band will be followed by a screening of the Academy Award-winning film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969) at dusk (around 9:00 pm.) Starring Robert Redford, Paul Newman and Katharine Ross, the movie won four Oscars® including Best Writing, Story and Screenplay, Best Original Song (“Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head”,) and Best Original Score (Burt Bacharach.) 2014 marks the 45th anniversary of this classic Western.
